Floors / Blind Floor
Blind Floor - “Those from below”. This pattern is a reinterpretation of the mysterious tiles found on the pavement of the Castle of Breda (Netherlands). The relationship in the 16th century between the Nassau dynasty and the Castilian nobility brought Byzantine and Moorish aesthetic to the city. The meaning of those eyes looking from the other side is still unknown.
This work has been carried out with the help of 132 volunteers during 6 days. We’ve conquered public space tile by tile trying to bring a feeling of home into a crossing place that it is not conceived to be enjoyed by people. Happy social network!
